Why does my cat ‘make biscuits’?
Is there anything more adorable than when your catto ‘makes biscuits’ with their little paws?
We’ve uncovered the reason behind this cute (yet purrplexing!) behaviour!
Adorably, this habit started when your cat was a teeny kitten and kneaded their mama’s tummy to encourage milk expression. It was their way of bonding with their mum, and to make things even more heart-melting, they would purr while working those tiny paws.
Once they’re older, cattos will recreate this endearing motion on soft surfaces like blankets when feeling utterly content. And if you’re extra lucky, they’ll even start kneading you directly when you’re giving them some affection: showing that they feel safe and happy with you, like when they were a nursing kitten. (We’re not crying. You are!)
It’s im-paw-tant to know that this behaviour is totally normal and simply an indication that your catto is happy and at ease in your presence. So bask in the warmth of their baking prowess and know you've achieved the ultimate level of feline comfort! 🧑🍳🐱
