More than a website
PetRescue is Australia’s most visited charity website and largest database of rescue pets.
Every day, we bring thousands of pet seekers face-to-furry-face with thousands of adorable rescue pets from hundreds of shelters, rescue groups and pounds nationwide. And we empower pet seekers to save thousands of lives every month. But there are many more ways our not-for-profit organisation is working to change outcomes for homeless pets in need.
Raising awareness and increasing adoptions
We invest heavily in promoting the adoption option to millions of pet lovers and have launched some of the most innovative awareness campaigns and successful industry-changing adoption programs over the years – from in-store adoptions and off-site pet showcasing, to interstate rehoming and Australians Say No to Puppy Farms.
Busting myths and driving positive change
We are tackling some of the key and controversial animal welfare issues in Australia, and presenting solutions to create a future where every healthy, treatable rescue pet finds a loving home. We are active supporters of the No Kill movement and humane cat management and against breed specific legislation.
Offering free resources to rescue groups
We offer our services, programs and online resources for free to hundreds of shelters, pounds and rescue groups Australia-wide. We’re committed to sharing information, education and good practice in animal care and rehoming, and working with our members to help them grow their adoption programs and save more lives. Creating passionate advocates
We believe the pet-loving public are the true hero force with the powers to drive positive change for rescue pets, and we’re tapping into that huge potential by sharing ways people can make a small contribution to saving lives in their community.
