Community animal rescue groups reap the benefits of PetRescue’s latest tech integration
Rhonda from SAFE Bunbury is pretty happy - her foster carer has more time for cuddles, thanks to PetRescue's time-saving tech integration.
We are happy to report that our latest ‘techsperiment’ has been making life a whole lot easier for our amazing member organisations!
WA’s largest volunteer-based animal rescue and rehoming service, SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia Inc.), is thrilled with the new development, which pushes data from their animal management system to the PetRescue website with zero manual effort.
“SAFE’s new website links directly to our data platform, which in turn talks to PetRescue. This means that all our listings for the pets we’ve rescued automatically upload to both our own SAFE website, as well as PetRescue’s, saving our wonderful vollies a whole lot of time and work,” said SAFE’s executive officer Anne Boxhall.
“Every bit helps when it comes to finding homes for pets and saving time for our staff and volunteers,” said Anne.
Since the rollout, over 1,300 pets from rescue groups have been automatically listed on PetRescue’s website.
Built by PetRescue’s tech heads late last year, this new API makes listing pets much quicker and easier for member organisations using Animal Shelter Manager (ASM) to manage their pet data.
Pet listings are automatically created and updated on PetRescue.com.au whenever a pet listing is added or revised in ASM meaning listings never get out of date, and a huge amount of admin time is saved for rescue groups.
What’s more, the API is compatible with all contemporary animal shelter management platforms, creating huge potential to save rescue members more time and effort moving forward.
