A MESSAGE FROM LOUIES CARER
“
Beautiful, healthy, loving boy. De-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped. 4.5 years old. This boy is highly affectionate and will wrap his arms around you. He is fairly placid around the house , and loves other dogs as he is a real 'middle of the pack' boy. He prefers playing with dogs rather than chasing balls.
Louie craves company so another dog would be great, or an interactive owner who is around most of the time. He will be your best buddy.
He is a sensitive dog but generally very happy, as long as he feels safe. While he is fine in thunderstorms, unfortunately Louie does not like kids due to the noises they make and their sudden movements. He is also scared of scooters and skateboards and bikes so this environment would not suit him. He is untested with cats but his sister has taught him bad habits there, so probably best to avoid them.
Louie is an excellent watchdog and very protective of the home. He is an intelligent boy, strong on lead but good off-lead and will come to you when called (treats help). He loves the beach! Once settled, he will not try to escape as he really just wants to feel at home with you.”
Meet Louie
Louie is a 4.5 year old Collie x Cattle mix who currently lives in Coolum Beach. He weighs 28 kilos and has been vaccinated, microchipped, desexed and wormed, making him ready for his forever home!
Louie is looking for an active family who can give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation - he loves to go on long walks and play fetch with his favourite toys! He responds well to positive reinforcement methods and is even learning some basic obedience commands. Louies gets along great with other dogs but unfortunately isn't cat friendly so would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He is good with older children but may be too energetic for young ones. He loves walks but can be strong in the lead . He prefers bigger kids over 12 years old.
A secure fence will be needed to keep Louie safe as he loves to explore! His adoption fee is $495 which includes all vet work mentioned above. If you think you could provide Louie with a loving home please contact the rescue group today!

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
