About Hector & Buddy
Buddy was a feral stray and no-one predicted he would turn into the smooch-machine that he is now! Buddy will almost trip you up demanding you sit down so he can get in your lap for head scratches and belly rubs, and will make you laugh with his snorty-sounding purrs.
Buddy loves toys, treats and his human and cat companions. Not only would you get a very affectionate and loyal companion in Buddy, but he will go well with any household decor with his sleek tuxedo coat!
Hector came from the Ballarat Pound where he was nothing short of being a psycho feral. He was on the euthanasia list but luckily the kind animal officers didn’t take his lunging at their face personally and let him be bailed out to rescue. Although it took many months, he now adores a good head and body scratch and can’t get enough of playing with his favourite toy - “da bird” feathers on a string. He loved rubbing heads and doing zoomies in the cat run with Buddy and both Buddy and Hector like to snuggle Opal and give her a bath.
Opal was a feral kitten found in the same area as Buddy. We like to think she could be his daughter, albeit we have not conducted the expensive genetic testing to know if that is the case. He certainly took on a fatherly role towards her, teaching her how to cat.
Hector would not cope alone since he came from a bush colony. He needs to be adopted with a friend and he needs an experienced owner who will be patient while he adapts to new surroundings and people. Can you adopt Hector with Buddy and/or Opal?
Medical notes
Buddy is FIV+ and has had one front toe amputated but he is very healthy otherwise.
