About Chippy
Chippy is super affectionate boy. He is strong on lead and can lunge playfully walking past some dogs. Chippy is great with kids but jumps up when excited so suits 12+yo best. He can be a bit rough taking treats.
Walkers say “Took treats gently. Pulled a lot when other dogs in sight. Walked really well otherwise”, “Started off barking at dogs, then got used to others”. "Relaxed as we got further away from shelter. Lunged at other dogs but not in an aggressive manner"
"Locally, he’s pretty anxious around other shelter dogs, so on one occasion, we jumped in the car and drove down the lane. Walked great after that, and again, when we encountered another dog that wandered out of one of the properties at the far end of the road, he just pulled towards it inquisitively, his tail wagging, totally unstressed."
He has a smooth coat and weighs 25.5kg.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
Good with Kids: Shown to be good with kids in the controlled environment of the Shelter.
Suit Part Time Worker: Copes alone for short periods, with training possibly longer but presently does need someone home part of the time.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE: Many people grow up with, or own a dog who has had no bad experiences in life. A dog who is confident and well rounded. However, many rescue dogs have not been as lucky in their lives.
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience and an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
