About Portia - Located in Eltham
Oh, darling, let me grace you with my presence. I'm Portia, and let me tell you, I'm not just your average feline. No, no, I'm a diva in fur. Picture this: me, perched elegantly on your shoulder or nestled on your chest, close to your face where I belong. I thrive on attention, darling, especially cuddles. Oh, yes, cuddles are my jam, my raison d'être.
I'm not just a pretty face, though I must say, this little black mustache of mine adds a certain je ne sais quoi to my already exquisite appearance. I demand a human who can appreciate my beauty and shower me with the affection I deserve. If you're not up for dedicated cuddle time, well, darling, I'm afraid we're not a match made in heaven.
But fear not, for I'm not just about me, myself, and I. I get along splendidly with humans and even those other furry creatures you call cats. My charisma knows no bounds, darling. So, if you're ready for a sassy, sophisticated companion who knows how to steal the show, then look no further. I'm right here, waiting for you to sweep me off my paws and into a life of luxury and adoration.

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
