Meet Arancia, a whole lot of personality in a short, squat body.

Fully house trained, and fine when left to her own devices at home, inside and outside. Happy to amuse herself with stuffed toys and perimeter checks. Arancia is sweet girl, with a lot of love to give. And as a bonus, she’s also an amazing fly wrangler, putting those cattle dog genes to work by rounding up any flies or bugs she sees inside and making sure they aren’t around to bother anyone.

We theorise that Arancia was never told no in her former life. She has all the airs and graces of a Queen, one who is accustomed to always getting her own way. As such, it is important that her new owner is committed to obedience training. Once this little lady learns that she is, in fact, not the leader of the pack, she is a great little dog with so much love and endless entertainment to offer. Despite being an older dog, she’s a fast learner (very food driven) and very very clever.

Arancia doesn’t appear to have been socialised or walked much, if at all, before arriving in foster care. She now loves being on lead and heading out for daily walks but needs continued work on her lead reactivity. She’s come a long way while in care, but it is important this work is continued once she is adopted, she will regress if her new owner doesn’t continue her training and understand her needs.

Better suited as an only dog (she’ll have your undivided attention, thanks) and in a home with older children, if any (she has met young children and loves them but can jump up and barrel around the little ones). She’s lived with a foster brother and met other dogs while in care, and after a slow introduction, loves a play and some rough and tumble, but is happier as the only dog on the block.
