About Nutmeg
Nutmeg is a sensitive, smart and affectionate young gal looking for an adventure bestie.
This pretty gal has begun learning her basic commands. She has started long lead training. She gets the gist of sit, ground, and leave it. Nutmeg is crate trained and sleeps through the night. She travels in the car well.
Nutmeg has wonderful inside manners but does still jump up or gently put her paws up on your knee to greet. Nutmeg does love running after a ball or frisbee although she is learning to return the toy after a passionate run to it. Nutmeg's recall command is pretty good and she likes to immediately sit or flop next to you feet on return. Although Nutmeg has basic training, she would benefit from ongoing work in order to keep her stimulated.
Nutmeg has great manners at mealtime, and is gentle when taking treats even in the presence of other dogs. Nutmeg thrives on routine.
Nutmeg is generally timid in new situations and requires a patient handler who will allow her time to adjust. With gentle guidance and praise, it doesn't take long for her confidence to shine through. Nutmeg bonds very quickly with people.
Nutmeg initially likes her space with other dogs and people, but it isn't long until she wants to join in on play, receive pats and cuddles. She is generally cat friendly - curious but knows her boundaries and often avoids her foster cat sibling. Nutmeg has not been tested around horses, cattle, sheep, chickens or children.
Nutmeg is quite gentle and submissive. She would suit another gentle doggie pal, or would cope well as an only dog if her active owner was home more often than not, and willing to socialise her further. Nutmeg would make a lovely offsider for someone in a rural area, or non built up suburbia. Due to her young age, she would be suitable in a family with older kids, or an active family willing to include her in adventures.
If Nutmeg sounds like the girl for you, please send in an application today!
Nutmeg is located in WA.
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
