Beautiful little Dolly is 2 years old and is desperately looking for a forever type of love, she has had a sad life up until being rescued a few weeks ago and is now ready to swipe right on a new family!
Poor Dolly has not had the best start to life, when she arrived at the pound, she was missing hair on her back, tummy, and legs due to being kept in filthy conditions and developing a severe flea allergy. Dolly also had a nasty ear infection and had very sore eyes from conjunctivitis, she was underweight, and it was clear that she had only recently had babies.
It seems it’s the usual story, a dog kept in horrific condition, used for backyard breeding, once the pups are gone and they’ve made their money, they discard the mum having no use for her anymore. We are determined to give Dolly the life she deserves, we placed her into foster care where she has been receiving some extra TLC, she is healing up very nicely and soon her past life will only be a memory.
Despite being treated like crap by humans, Dolly is possibly the most loving and affectionate dog we have ever met. This girl jumps up gently for a cuddle and just wants to be in your arms. Dolly loves meeting new people and will often sit straight on their feet demanding a pat and attention. Dolly can still jump up at times for attention, she could live with children over 5 that are dog savvy.
Dolly LOVES treats and will sell her soul for some roast chicken, she knows how to sit and is keen to learn new commands, she would love a breed experienced home that is dedicated to her ongoing training, short, frequent, reward-based sessions at home will have Dolly mastering her commands and manners in no time. Dolly does need to learn how to walk nicely on lead, she currently will pull to smell everything, she gets very overstimulated out on walks; taking things nice and slow and building up to walks in busier areas will help Dolly to enjoy her time out and about.
Dolly is looking for an active family that can stimulate her both physically and mentally, she would love enrichment and games included in her routine so that she can keep her quick mind busy, she is a typical young German Shepherd who craves mental stimulation. Dolly would love to go on adventures with her new family, she is a good girl travelling in the car.
Dolly is very conflicted with other dogs, she has lived with another dog previously and has been able to meet another dog with very slow, careful introductions, however she is very worried about meeting new dogs and will bark and lunge when she sees them out walking. Dolly needs to build her confidence walking past other dogs and work on her critical distance, this will not be a quick fix and will require someone dedicated to helping Dolly feel comfortable and teaching her to focus and ignore others instead of reacting. For now, Dolly is best suited to a home without other dogs, she has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
This little love-bug is desperate to find a home of her own that will love her unconditionally, she has so much love to give and is the sweetest girl, we can’t believe she ever ended up in the pound in the condition she did, no dog deserves that, but especially not one as sweet and as cuddly as Dolly.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
