About Ryder
It is with the heaviest of hearts that Ryder's owner needs to re-home his beautiful loving boy Ryder.
Ryder is a 19 month old German Shepherd is an active and large dog, weighing 42 kilos.
Ryder is the most energetic, sweetest cuddle bug whilst being determined to protect his home and family. Ryders favourite toys are balls of all kinds and sticks (the bigger the better).
Ryder prefers the company of another large breed dog at the home or someone to be home with him to cuddle and play. He doesn’t get on well with small dogs so if there is one in the home that is a no go.
He is good with children of young ages but can be a little rough (best to be supervised at all times if with children).
He is toilet trained and knows basic commands (sit, down, back, leave it) his recall is a bit shaky and can use additional training.
He loves water of all forms (baths, beaches you name it).
If you understand the nature of a German Shepherd, have recently owned this breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Ryder! He will provide lots of love and companionship in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with his new owner.
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered for adoption; however, you must be able to drive with your family to meet Ryder. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.
Medical notes
Ryder is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
