Meet Toby! 🐕
PERSONALITY:
My foster Mum says I'm making great progress. Leaps and bounds is exactly what I do when my teenage foster kids wake up in the morning. I'm always excited about a morning walk, even if it's raining. I enjoy chasing the wild ducks, but I always come back when I'm called. I am FAST! In the afternoons when my foster family gets home and rides their horses, I follow along. I also trail behind the quad bike when we check fences. I prefer running to riding on the quad. I am excellent off-leash!
TRAINING: (sleep, toilet, crate training, commands/tricks, leash walking?)
I haven't encountered any chickens or cats, but I absolutely adore other dogs. My dachshund buddy thinks I can be a bit too energetic at times. Currently, I'm enjoying the company of an older kelpie who is introducing me to all the aspects of farm life. I still feel anxious when traveling in the car and might occasionally get sick. I much prefer riding in the back seat of a pickup truck where I can look out the window, and if my dachshund or kelpie friend is with me, I feel more at ease. I sleep through the night (on my back, legs spread out) without needing to be let out to go to the bathroom. If I did need to go, I'd simply use my doggy door.
PERFECT HOME: (are they tested on children, other dogs & animals, level of exercise, acerage/suburbia, need another dog?)
Toby is searching for a home that radiates understanding and warmth, a place that suits his more reserved demeanor. He would flourish in a household with another dog, as their companionship provides him with comfort and reassurance. If you're looking for a furry friend who appreciates a gentle approach and enjoys the company of another canine companion, Toby could be the perfect match. Moreover, his familiarity with horses and remarkable off-leash skills contribute to his adaptable and well-mannered nature.
Love and licks from Toby! 🐾❤️ Is your heart ready to welcome this sweet soul into your home? 🏡

Medical notes
I’ve had my dew claws removed and been desexed. I’m still wearing a cone. How embarrassing!
