About Dodie
Hey there, I'm Dodie, and I'm here to wag my way into your heart! Ever met a dog who's a pro at understanding your feelings? Well, that's me! I've got empathy and loyalty in spades, so whether you're feeling on top of the world or in need of a cuddle, count on me to be right by your side.
Curious about what a day in my paws looks like? Well, it starts with a quick cuddle sesh, followed by a walk/run combo to get those legs moving. I spend my days hanging out indoors and outdoors, soaking up the company of whoever's around. Lunchtime means playtime in the yard. Tug games are the best, and it has to be with rope toys. Nothing else is quite the same. I'm also a keen water player; watch me jump and snap at that hose. I'm always up for an afternoon stroll before dinner.
When it's time for outdoor fun, you'll find me at the dog park, soaking in the social scene. I absolutely adore mingling with medium-sized dogs—they're my kind of pals! But when it comes to the big dogs, I get a tad nervous. And those small pups? Well, let's just say I forget my size sometimes and can be a bit overwhelming for them.
My ideal home is an active household with outdoor access and experienced owners who can keep up with my high energy levels. While I'm open to making new furry friends, especially cats, I thrive best in a stable environment with less hustle and bustle, where I can settle in without the chaos of constant comings and goings.
I've had some struggles with separation in the past—it took about two months to get used to being in a crate without panicking. Now, I can handle being in a separate room by myself, but when I hear those keys, I start to get a bit anxious. Luckily, after a few minutes of panic, I usually calm down and can handle being alone for a while.
Things that can get me a bit worked up are barriers and leads. When I'm showing barrier reactivity, I might indicate that I want to go over the fences, but I promise I'm not trying to escape, especially since I've never realized I could go under! I can get a little barky and reactive towards other dogs at first when it comes to lead. But here's the thing: I just need a patient person who will keep up with my training, calmly wait me out and provide direction.
As long as my social cup stays full and my energy needs are met, I'll be one happy pup ready to fill your world with love and make some pawsitive memories!
Dodie is located in Virginia, QLD, 4014
Medical notes

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Following adoption - change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on listing) will be provided.
