About Sumac
*In foster care in Stanmore, Sydney*
A confident and curious ginger boy, Sumac was rescued from a Lidcombe colony where some kind people wished for a better life for him. Since coming into care, Sumac has relished the safety of inside living and is an especially enthusiastic eater. Sumac has a very confident nature - he is unfazed by most things and lives for playing with his feather toy, and his brother Nutmeg.
Sumac loves to play and be around his humans. He is a flirty boy when it comes to dinner time and weaves around your legs purring lovingly. He climbs all over his humans if they sit down on the floor and lets them cuddle him. Sumac is a big love bug - some creamy treats and some patience and Sumac's destiny is your new couch bestie. Once he feels safe you will be rewarded with his satisfyingly gorgeous deep purr. Sumac will be a fantastic companion for his forever home. Sumac LOVES wand toys and likes to act like a hunter, dragging his toys back into his bed. He jumps and basically flies around the house chasing his wand toy.
Sumac loves to play with his brother Nutmeg and is fine with the residents cats in the home. He is curious and confident with the resident dog, walking up and sniffing her.
Like all Maggie's pets, Sumac is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: is with someone who will be patient with me while I become my best kitten self. I would suit a single, couple or family with older kids who are home to dote on me. I'd love to hang out and help you while you work or study from home. A cat friend would be a great option but I think I'd also be fine on my own so long as the people are around a fair bit.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Average - a good couple of play sessions and then I snooze away the day.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Older kids (10+) who are respectful of my space but will spend time playing with me would suit me well.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I love hanging out with my brother Nutmeg and don't mind the resident cats in my foster home.
There are dogs here too but I haven't met them up close yet. I think with the right introductions I could live with a chill cat friendly dog.

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
