About Churu
Meet Churu, a gentle and affectionate senior girl who is very tranquil. Although she's a little shy initially, as soon as she gets comfortable, her social butterfly wings unfold. Her charm is unmistakable, her calm demeanour unwavering, and her love for food irresistible.
Churu's personality blossoms when she is given the time to settle into her surroundings. She would thrive in a quiet home where her owner understands her need for an extended settling-in period. It might take a few weeks, but your patience will be rewarded with an enrichment to your home that will be hard to measure but easy to feel.
Churu is FIV+, but this does not hold her back. There is a wealth of research showing that cats with FIV can live long, fulfilling lives when given high-quality food and regular veterinary care. It simply means her immune system requires a little extra care (like promptly taking her to the vet if she is unwell), and it's why Churu will need to be an indoor-only cat. This furthers her protection from exposure to harmful parasites and potential infectious diseases.
Churu is an exceptional cat who brings a sense of peace, companionship, and happiness that's enduring and ultimately rewarding. If you believe you can provide a homely haven suitable for our precious Churu, don't hesitate to apply to meet her. She's more than ready to share her heart and gentle spirit with her new family.

Medical notes
Churu is FIV+, this means her immune system is not as robust as in an FIV negative cat. However, there is now a lot of research and studies that show FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives just like FIV negative cats, if they receive a high quality diet and routine veterinary care, and live an indoor lifestyle to prevent exposure to harmful parasites and infectious diseases.
FIV negative and positive cats can live together with minimal risk of transmission of FIV. FIV is only transferred via deep bite wounds, not through behaviours such as mutual grooming or through fomites, as the virus can not survive outside the infected cat's body for any length of time.
Most of Churu's teeth have been extracted with only 3 remaining. This does not affect her ability to eat.
