About Riley Yarbury
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:

With his big ears, expression filled face, love of a good snuggle and adoration of his humans, Riley is a real gem of a wee dog. He has shown that in the right environment he can blossom and make his special forever family very happy.
Riley has really come out of his shell the last few months showing, he is a sweet, friendly and affectionate boy. He enjoys the company of his humans, but has also learnt to love the company of an older, calm dog mate. Riley has learnt the joy of a zoomie, playing catch and wrestling, all with his furry foster sibling. He loves his daily walk with his foster sibling and walks really well on the lead. Riley, is selective about the other dogs that he will approach on his walk, but this appears to be related to the response of his anxious sibling to them and potentially him following the lead. He is not tested with cats.
Riley is house trained and can use a soft flap doggie door (hard ones hurt him), but does not like to go out when it is wet and needs to be taken out if it is. He loves his food and eats best in his crate, as he can eat quicker than his sibling and then go sniffing for more. However, this love of food helps with his training and he has shown to be a quick learner despite his age. He feels most comfortable traveling in a car when in his crate, which is also where he sleeps at night.
Riley loves nothing more than sitting on the couch and snuggling with his humans, preferably under a blanket. In fact, always a good thing to check the couch before sitting as you may find him burrowed under them. He loves a cuddle so much, he hugs you right back when you pick him up, nuzzling his head into your neck to show you how much he loves his human.
Riley is a happy dog all the time, and has a lot of love to give his forever family. He would love a home, where his humans are around more often than not, and if possible, where he has an older, easy going fur-friend to keep him company and have a play. Does this gorgeous gem of a boy sound like your perfect match? Fill in an application form to find out.
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
Weight: 4.2kg
Riley came to us from a shelter in terrible condition. He has a heart
murmur that we are investigating and have put him on meds. We need to
wait for them to kick in so that we can do his dental. His mouth is a
mess with two at least oral nasal fissures. He has scarring all over his
back. We wish he could tell us his story. His health rehabilitation is
in progress. Despite this he loves the world.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. We look forward to receiving your application.
